Travel Tips for a Smooth Arrival at Hamad International Airport

January is one of the busiest arrival periods of the year at Hamad International Airport, with residents returning to Doha after the winter holidays. As arrivals are expected to peak until January 3rd, here are a few simple tips that can help make your journey back home even smoother.

Scan and Go Through Immigration

E-gates are the quickest way through immigration where eligible passengers, including families with children taller than 130 cm, can ‘scan and go’ though immigration. More information can be found on Ministry of Interior’s webpage.

Find Your Bags Easily

Bags can be collected from the baggage hall after immigration and security.

  • Your baggage belt number is displayed on the screens in the baggage hall.
  • Oversized items like strollers and wheelchairs are delivered on dedicated belts.
  • Check your baggage tag to ensure you have the right bags.

Baggage services office is located in the arrivals hall if you need further support.

Plan Your Pick-Ups

If someone is collecting you, using the car park is the easiest option during peak hours. It keeps traffic flowing and avoids delays.

Choose the Right Ride

Several transportation options are available from the terminal to get you on your way to the city:

  • Authorized taxis and buses operate from designated pavilions, which are on either side of the arrival’s hall.
  • Ride-hailing services such as Uber and Badr-go, from the designated pick-up area.
  • Doha Metro station via a short indoor walk from the terminal.
  • Car rental, limousine and valet services are also available.

Our teams are on the ground across Hamad International Airport to ensure passengers have a seamless and smooth arrival. We hope you have a safe return home!
